Cape May, NJ

Local Information

Cape May is a historic town on the southern most coast line in New Jersey, only 17 miles driving south on the Garden State Parkway from Sea Isle City.  Because of its close proximity, uniqueness and wealth of restaurants and activites, Cape May makes a great day or night trip from your Sea Isle City Rental. As the Nations Oldest Seashore Resort, it was designated a national landmark in May of 1976.  It's most iconic symbol, the Cape May Lighthouse, constructed in 1859 remains a featured attraction for many visitors. Victorian architectural design is visible throughout town.  The old structures of the Victorian era have withstood the test of time.  They remain in pristine condition and are popular attractions for visitors to come and take tours.

Whale and bird watching are very popular in Cape May. Because it is the second largest fishing port on the Atlantic Coast, fishing is a very popular activity in this Victorian town. Enjoy some of the freshest seafood at family owned restaurants such as the Lobster House. For that old town shopping feel, don’t forget to top by the famous Washington Street Mall that is conveniently located in the heart of the city.

Nestled into the spot where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, Cape May has everything it takes to make a perfect vacation destination. White sandy beaches, a boardwalk that has restaurants and entertainment, and a Victorian atmosphere are just a few of the attributes of Historical Cape May.
